It's the feeling in your gut, the moment to move has arrived, and you can't not take action.
My hands were sweaty and the 60-second video required a few attempts to get it right. The video concept hit me during lunch and the impulse to get it done and posted was manic. There was an extreme sense of urgency. I will forever remember the bench I was sitting on when I uploaded the recording. My hands were literally shaking, and my heart was racing. I sensed this particular video was getting me closer to discovering my "writing" voice.
The action was thrilling!
What are your physical manifestations of taking the action you need to take?
Does your mouth go dry before calling the wealthy client?
Even though the bungee cords are secure, does your body resist jumping over the edge?
Do you forget to eat, as the code materializes on the screen in the wee hours of the morning?
Is your stomach in knots before your solo in the spotlight?
Do you wear the blazer because it hides the sweat stains during the pitch?
Does your sleep suffer, because your mind is racing with excitement about the status of the project and what you get to do tomorrow?
Thinking, pondering, procrastinating, and hiding doesn't produce the same physical rush as when the dream is propelled forward with taking deliberate steps.
When did you last take the risk, pitch a product, ship your work, or implement the action that has been waiting? Push back the resistance and earn the physical rush of endorphins!
Going Further: What are all the sensations you experience physically in the midst of taking massive action? What are the mental changes you encounter? What do others notice about you? What dreams are you pursuing that will deliver these sensations? What action will you take today?
Note: The video I mentioned was posted on 19 August 2016, on Instagram (@iotd365) for the inquiry "How do you seek out bad news". Not sure how the 10-second corruption happened at the beginning, but the words remain.
